Castilla y León allocates €6 million to integrate 92 young farmers in Salamanca

The Junta of Castilla y León has earmarked €6,052,223.39 for the province of Salamanca to help 92 young farmers and ranchers join the agricultural sector. The funding is part of a broader €48.1 million allocation for 598 young agrarians across the autonomous community, with the total programme budget raised to €115 million.

In Salamanca, 76 beneficiaries will receive establishment aid covering installation costs of about €5.17 million, while 16 will obtain improvement grants of €883,306 to upgrade their farms. Recipients can claim a 60 % advance payment, with the remaining 40 % paid after verification of the plan within a five‑year period. Regional agriculture minister Joaquín Antonio Pino highlighted the measures as a strategic move to ensure generational renewal and the long‑term viability of Spanish agriculture.

The programme aims to sustain rural economies, maintain food production capacity and reduce dependence on imports, with the remaining applications to be processed in the coming months.
