Castilla y León begins construction of 59 prefabricated rural homes

The regional government of Castilla y León has begun the foundation work for the first 59 subsidized, prefabricated single-family homes intended for rural areas. This initiative aims to encourage population settlement in small towns through efficient and rapid industrialized construction.

Work is commencing in nine locations, including San Miguel del Arroyo (Valladolid), San Andrés de Soria and Tera (Soria), Baltanás and Grijota (Palencia), Mansilla de las Mulas and Santa Marina del Rey (León), and San Morales (Salamanca). The public infrastructure company Somacyl has already awarded the contracts for foundations and utility installations for these sites.

The regional executive plans to develop 66 new residential districts across rural environments, totaling between 528 and 726 modular homes, depending on available land parcels.
