Castilla y León Cortes appoint three new senators
The Cortes of Castilla y León has appointed three new senators for the region following a secret ballot by the 82 procuradores of the XII Legislature.
Javier Maroto and Javier Iglesias, representing the Partido Popular, each received 32 votes. Clara Martín, representing the PSOE, received 30 votes. The voting process also resulted in 19 blank votes, with Vox procuradores opting to leave their votes blank.
Javier Maroto, who has served as a senator for the region since 2019, will maintain his position in the upper house. Javier Iglesias, the president of the Salamanca Provincial Council, and Clara Martín, the former mayor of Segovia, join the delegation.
