Castilla y León emergency services attend 150,000 people in early 2026

Emergency services in Castilla y León reported high activity during the first half of 2026. The Sacyl Health Emergency Management coordinated 150,379 assistance calls, resulting in the direct care of 150,731 people and the mobilization of 161,199 mobile health resources. Valladolid recorded the highest volume of patients with 34,919, followed by León with 27,382. Road accidents accounted for 2,724 interventions across the region, with León leading this category with 540 incidents.

Individual rescue operations were also noted. In Santa Colomba de Somoza, a helicopter was deployed to evacuate a young worker who became unwell in a difficult-to-access mountain area. In Salamanca, a cyclist was airlifted to the University Hospital of Salamanca after suffering a clavicle injury during a fall in Cabrerizos. In Segovia, services attended to 8,381 people, with trauma and musculoskeletal issues being the primary causes for calls.
