Castilla y León forms PP‑Vox coalition government with five new ministers

Regional president Alfonso Fernández Mañueco announced a new coalition government in Castilla y León, the second PP‑Vox partnership after the July 2024 breakup that saw Vox leave all regional executives. The cabinet comprises 12 ministries and includes five newcomers: three Vox members – Carlos Pollán, Alberto Díaz Pico and Joaquín Antonio Pino – and two PP members – Cristina Sanchidrián and María Pardo.

The government is headed by Mañueco with two vice‑presidencies. Pollán (Vox) serves as first vice‑president and leads the newly created Ministry of Desregulation, Family and Social Aid, while Isabel Blanco (PP) holds the second vice‑presidency without portfolio, overseeing housing, territorial planning, equality and depopulation issues. PP retains key portfolios such as Economy and Finance (Carlos Fernández Carriedo), Health and Social Welfare (Alejandro Vázquez), and Education (María Pardo). Vox controls Agriculture, Livestock, Rural and Environmental Policy (Joaquín Antonio Pino) and Culture, Tourism and Sport (Alberto Díaz Pico). Four women, all from the PP, join the cabinet, bringing the total female representation to four.

The restructuring reflects each party’s priorities: PP keeps the major spending ministries, while Vox secures departments that align with its rural and cultural agenda.
