Castilla y León government inaugurated with new Vox vice president and cabinet reshuffle

President Alfonso Fernández Mañueco of Castilla y León sworn in a new coalition executive on Monday, appointing Vox member Carlos Pollán as first vice president and keeping PP member Isabel Blanco as second vice president. The cabinet, now comprising twelve members – nine from the People’s Party and three from Vox – retains eleven ministerial portfolios and introduces a new Ministry of Environment and Energy.

Pollán, also appointed minister for Deregulation, Family and Social Aid, highlighted immediate priorities: drafting a 2027 regional budget, launching a natality plan, and negotiating immigration agreements with other countries. The government will also work on housing, territorial planning, equality, depopulation, and civil protection, while other new ministers take charge of culture, tourism, sport, agriculture, and digital transformation.

The restructuring follows the coalition agreement between the PP and Vox, aiming to fulfil commitments made in the recent pact and to provide stability for the next four-year term.
