Castilla y León hires ten people with intellectual disabilities

The Junta de Castilla y León has hired ten individuals with intellectual disabilities as permanent subaltern staff within the regional administration. All ten positions offered in the specific selection process have been filled.

The distribution of these roles includes seven positions in Salamanca, with one each in Burgos, Palencia, and Zamora. To support the candidates, the Escuela de Administración Pública de Castilla y León (ECLAP) provided study materials adapted to easy-to-read formats, developed in collaboration with the Comité Español de Representantes de Personas con Discapacidad (CERMI).

The selection followed a competitive examination process involving both theoretical and practical tests, alongside a merit-based evaluation of professional experience and training. This initiative aligns with regional laws that mandate a 10% reserve for people with disabilities in public employment, exceeding the 7% minimum required by Spanish state regulations.
