Castilla y León hosts cultural festivals at heritage sites
Cultural festivals in the Castilla y León region of Spain are utilizing historical and industrial heritage sites to host musical performances aimed at boosting tourism and rural cohesion.
In Segovia, the ‘Escenario Patrimonio de Castilla y León’ festival features a diverse program including circus, dance, and theater. A recent performance in Abades by Cuarteto Arghul showcased iconic film soundtracks in the Plaza de la Iglesia.
In Valladolid, the ‘Conciertos en Lugares Significativos 2026’ cycle, organized by the Diputación de Valladolid, brings classical music to industrial heritage sites. Scheduled between August 15 and September 5, the series includes performances at a windmill in Castromembibre, the Bread Museum in Mayorga, and flour factories in Íscar and Medina de Rioseco. The program features the Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de Valladolid and various instrumental recitals ranging from Mozart and Vivaldi to modern film scores.
