Castilla y León launches tuition subsidies for university students
The Junta de Castilla y León has launched a new subsidy program to cover the first-year tuition costs for students enrolling in public universities within the region for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The program has an initial budget of 12.62 million euros, which can be increased by up to 2 million euros to accommodate more applicants. The initiative is expected to benefit approximately 15,000 students. To qualify, students must be registered residents (empadronados) in a municipality in Castilla y León and be enrolling in their first year of a degree or double degree program.
Interested students must submit their applications through the regional administration's electronic office within a one-month window, specifically from September 22 to October 22, 2026. Successful applicants will receive a reimbursement equivalent to the public price paid for their academic services.
