Castilla‑La Mancha adopts 23 measures to curb food waste in 2026

The Regional Forum for Food Waste Reduction met in Toledo, bringing together representatives of most regional ministries and other institutions involved in the "Sin Desperdicio 20‑30" strategy. The forum evaluated the 2025 food‑waste plan, confirming full execution of the 24 scheduled measures – nine already completed and the remainder in progress – and incorporated them into the next year's agenda.

The body unanimously approved a new set of 23 measures for 2026, designed to fit within the 2025‑2027 triennial framework and guided by criteria such as execution complexity, priority ordering and budget availability. The plan also includes continued outreach activities, such as social‑media campaigns, informational days and webinars aimed at businesses, as well as participation in regional and national events, studies by the Food Waste Observatory, recent publications and subsidised projects.

These actions are part of a broader regional effort to reduce food waste across the entire supply chain, supporting economic, social and environmental goals set out in the regional strategy that runs through 2030.
