Konami releases free demo for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Konami video game demo metroidvania Rose Belmont

Konami has released a free playable demo for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The demo allows players to experience the opening chapter of the 2D action-exploration game. Progress made during the demo can be transferred to the full version, which is scheduled for release on October 15, 2026, provided players use the same platform and account.

Developed by Konami in collaboration with Evil Empire and Motion Twin, the title is set in Paris in 1499, occurring 23 years after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Players control Rose Belmont, the daughter of Trevor Belmont, as she battles monsters using the iconic Vampire Killer whip and various other weapons and abilities. The game features a system where defeated bosses, such as Medusa and Death, can be sealed into tarot cards to grant special skills known as Arcana.

The release coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Castlevania franchise. To celebrate, Konami is also offering the original 1986 Castlevania game for free on Android and iOS until October 24, 2026. For the new title, a Midnight Edition is available for pre-order, featuring exclusive digital content and alternative costumes.
