Castlevania: Belmont's Curse developers confirm intentional character designs

Developers of the newly released Castlevania: Belmont's Curse have confirmed that the attractive character designs were an intentional creative choice. Lead designer Sandro Bordier and marketing director Berenger Dupre stated that the aesthetic was meant to establish a specific atmosphere and appeal to fans.

The team noted a significant surge in fan art following the game's release, particularly for characters like Carmilla and the protagonist Rose Belmont. Dupre also highlighted the unexpected popularity of the character Trevor.

In terms of gameplay, the title features various puzzles, such as the Notre Dame organ riddle. Solving this puzzle requires players to identify a sequence of keys by observing the number of lit candles in the scriptorium, which rewards players with a Work of Mercy tarot card upgrade.
