Castore explores potential sale following surge in interest
Castore, the Manchester-based sportswear brand, is exploring a potential sale following a surge of unsolicited interest from industry rivals. The company has retained JPMorgan to examine strategic options, though a formal sale process has not yet been officially initiated.
Interested parties reportedly include businesses from China and other global regions. A potential deal could involve a majority or minority sale, a partnership, or no transaction at all. Co-founders Tom and Phil Beahon are expected to remain at the helm of the business.
Castore has experienced significant recent growth, with revenues rising 30 percent year-on-year to £334.6 million for the 18 months ending August 3, 2025. The brand maintains high-profile partnerships across soccer, rugby, cricket, golf, and Formula One, supplying kits for teams such as Oracle Red Bull Racing and England’s cricket and rugby union teams. Recent strategic moves include a significant investment from Ineos and the acquisition of the heritage clothing brand Belstaff.
