Castro delivers over 100 dental prostheses to local residents
In Castro, Brazil, more than 100 dental prostheses were delivered to approximately 50 residents following a specialized health initiative. The program, which began in July, targeted patients from the Jardim Alvorada neighborhood and rural areas such as Socavão and Campina do Elias.
The initiative was carried out in five stages by professionals from the Dental Specialties Center (CEO) and Basic Health Units (UBSs). To ensure accessibility for rural residents, the Municipal Health Secretariat provided free round-trip transportation for patients throughout the various stages of treatment.
Despite the increased demand from the special drive, the CEO maintained its regular production levels, which typically produces about 65 prostheses per month. The technical coordinator of the CEO, Marcelo Nocera, noted that production was expanded to accommodate the specific needs of the initiative.
