Castro Jazz Festival continues with diverse musical performances

The fourth edition of the Castro Jazz Festival is currently underway in the historic center of Castro, Italy. The event features a variety of performances and educational sessions.

On August 24, the Bud Powell Jazz Orchestra, directed by Simone Stefanizzi and featuring trumpeter Andrea Sabatino, performed in Piazza Perotti to present their new album, ‘Open Circle’. The evening included a jam session open to all musicians. Additionally, a radio/Altrisuoni Corner session at the Aragonese Castle provided an in-depth look at the life of pianist Bud Powell.

On August 25, the festival continues with a focus on Dexter Gordon at the Aragonese Castle. Musical performances include the Giancarlo Del Vitto Hammond Trio featuring Gianfranco Menzella, presenting their tribute to Grant Green, and the radical improvisation trio Bring Your Horn, joined by bass clarinetist Marco Colonna.
