Castro Verde Council Funds New Pool Tables in Entradas

On 28 July, the Sociedade Recreativa e Desportiva Entradense (SRDE) in the village of Entradas, Portugal, received two new Portuguese‑style pool tables. The tables were purchased with €9,497 from the 2026 Participatory Budget (Orçamento Participativo) of the Câmara Municipal de Castro Verde.

The proposal, submitted by local representative Rodrigo Miguel da Costa Colaço, won the “Proposta Jovem” category with 52 votes. The new equipment replaces heavily worn tables, some dating from the 1980s, and is expected to improve training and competition conditions for the club’s roughly twenty pool athletes, who regularly compete in events organized by the Portuguese Billiards Federation. The investment is part of a broader set of infrastructure upgrades funded through the participatory budget, including lighting and bench replacements.
