Castrop-Rauxel cyclists exceed distance records in 2026 event

In the 2026 'Stadtradeln' and 'Schulradeln' cycling events in Castrop-Rauxel, participants covered a total of 112,872 kilometers. Although the number of active participants decreased to 506 riders across 51 teams compared to 605 in the previous year, the total distance traveled exceeded the 2025 result of 106,750 kilometers.

The Ernst-Barlach-Gymnasium recorded the highest mileage, with 73 cyclists contributing 15,000 kilometers. Other notable performers included the 'Offene Team Castrop-Rauxel' in second place and 'Radfreunde Mein Ickern' in third. Among educational institutions, the Neue Gesamtschule Ickern ranked as the second strongest school, while the Kita am Wald in Rauxel was recognized as the best daycare center.
