Castrop-Rauxel implements 30 km/h speed limit on Bahnhofstraße

The city of Castrop-Rauxel has implemented a continuous 30 km/h speed limit on Bahnhofstraße to improve safety for students. The new regulation applies to the stretch between Hermannstraße and Pallasstraße.

The speed limit is in effect Monday through Friday from 7:00 to 17:00, and it remains active during school holidays. This decision follows a review by the regulatory office's traffic department, which aimed to close previous gaps where 50 km/h zones existed between 30 km/h sections.

The area is a critical route for students attending the Willy-Brandt-Gesamtschule, Ernst-Barlach-Gymnasium, and Martin-Luther-King-Schule. High pedestrian traffic is noted particularly around Europaplatz and Berliner Platz, where bus services and railway connections intersect with major footpaths.
