Castroverde: Two siblings found dead in violent incident

The Guardia Civil is investigating the violent deaths of two siblings in the village of Agustín, located in Castroverde, Lugo. The bodies were discovered on a Saturday morning following an alert from a home assistance worker.

Authorities found a woman, who had physical and intellectual disabilities, deceased in a bed with signs of violence, including suspected knife wounds. Her brother was found dead in a septic tank outside the residence. The siblings, aged between 60 and 70, lived together and had been residing alone for over eight years following the death of their parents.

While the investigation remains open, preliminary findings suggest the involvement of a third party is unlikely. Investigators are currently exploring the hypothesis of fratricide followed by suicide, in which the brother killed his sister before taking his own life. Local neighbors reported that the siblings maintained a good relationship and had no known history of conflict.
