Castrovillari administration seeks increased hours for ex TIS workers

The municipality of Castrovillari is working to increase the weekly working hours for former TIS employees from 12 to 18 hours. Mayor Anna De Gaio and the municipal administration have been engaged in ongoing discussions with the Calabria Region to facilitate this change.

According to the administration, the process involves complex administrative procedures, including new personnel requirement planning and the verification of financial coverage. The municipality emphasized that this is not an abrupt decision or the result of a single political intervention, but a structured effort to provide more stable working conditions for the staff while respecting administrative and financial constraints.

Following an initial meeting with workers on August 18, institutional discussions continued, including a meeting on September 14 at the regional headquarters with Regional Labor Assessor Giovanni Calabrese, Mayor De Gaio, Budget Assessor Domenico Basile, and City Council President Pierluigi Abenante.
