Castrovillari hosts 40th International Summer of Folklore

Castrovillari will host the 40th edition of the International Summer of Folklore and Pollino from August 19 to 23, 2026. The event features musical and dance traditions from various nations, including Brazil, Ecuador, Georgia, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, the United States, and Italy.

The festival begins with the traditional Ceremony of Friendship at Palazzo di Città. Antonio Notaro, the artistic director and president of the E.I.F. Estate Internazionale del Folklore APS, noted that the 40-year milestone represents a history of passion and cultural exchange, aiming to foster brotherhood between nations through shared traditions.
