Cat owners in France and Germany offer rewards after pets vanish
In the Gironde region of France, a cat named Mozart, lost since 2009, was identified by an animal‑protection association after recent wildfires uncovered the animal’s microchip. Owner Elisabeth‑Sophie Stevens, originally from Côte‑d’Or, will be reunited with the feline after 17 years.
In Kehl, a German town on the French border, a three‑year‑old British Shorthair cat called Luna disappeared on 4 August. Her French owner, Samya Zuccaro, has offered a €500 reward for information leading to the cat’s safe return, noting the pet is micro‑chipped and may be hidden in a garage, cellar or similar location.
