Catalan airport infrastructure sees investment and expansion plans

Aena has announced an investment of 62.7 million euros in Reus Airport scheduled between 2027 and 2031. Separately, Salvador Illa, President of the Generalitat, has defended the expansion of Barcelona-El Prat Airport as a vital necessity for Catalonia's economic growth and prosperity. Illa stated that the project aims to become the most sustainable and green airport in southern Europe, asserting that infrastructure growth can remain compatible with environmental objectives despite ongoing debates regarding its capacity and impact.
