Catalan Casteller Groups Unite in Joint Bid to Lead Coordinadora

Five leading casteller groups — Minyons de Terrassa, Castellers de Vilafranca, Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls, Joves Xiquets de Valls and Jove Xiquets de Tarragona — have agreed to form a unified candidacy for the board of the Coordinadora de Colles Castelleres (CCCC). The alliance, announced after a series of meetings, aims to shape the future of the coordination body, reinforce consensus and strengthen the casteller community across Catalonia. The groups plan to present their project publicly and invite other colles to join a twelve‑member slate that reflects all levels and geographic areas. The current board’s term ends in March, with only the Colla Vella represented at present. Mireia Bautista, president of the Minyons de Terrassa, said, “We all believe this is something the casteller world has been asking for for a long time.”
