Catalan court annuls 547,000 euro fine against Cabify

The High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) has annulled a fine of over 547,000 euros previously imposed by the Generalitat on Cabify and several related companies. The court ruled that the sanctions were void because the legal processing deadlines had expired.

The Sindicat del Taxi de Catalunya (STAC) has expressed deep dissatisfaction with the ruling, claiming it follows a systemic pattern that allows ride-hailing services to avoid penalties. The union noted that this is not an isolated incident, citing a previous 2023 case where the TSJC declared the expiration of another procedure against Cabify involving 187,515 euros.
