Catalan festivals feature culinary traditions and new accessibility measures

Local festivities are underway in Catalonia, featuring traditional celebrations and culinary highlights in Sants and Sitges.

In the Sants neighborhood, the Festa Major runs from August 22 to 30. Local dining options range from traditional cuisine at Restaurant Carmen, which recently celebrated 30 years, to Andalusian specialties at Sur o no Sur. Other notable establishments include La Mundana, which offers Mediterranean and Japanese influences, and creative options like El Muntal and Mulabar.

In Sitges, the Festa Major de Sitges marks its central days with the vigil of Sant Bartomeu. This year’s celebrations include new accessibility measures, such as the use of vibrating vests during the 'Entrada de Grallers' to allow deaf individuals to experience the music through vibrations. The program also features the traditional '21 morterets' and the 'Sortida dels Dues' with local giants. Additionally, the Santiago Rusiñol Library is celebrating its 90th anniversary during the festivities.
