Catalan groups demand transparency in child abuse investigations
The Corrent Social Cristià is demanding full transparency and comprehensive data regarding sexual violence against minors in Catalonia. The organization is calling for a formal investigation into the Noelia case and is urging institutions to clarify how they protect vulnerable populations.
Estimates suggest that between 1,900 and 2,000 sexual victimizations may have occurred in 2024 in Catalonia, based on national proportions. The group has criticized the Generalitat for providing only partial information despite repeated formal requests made to President Salvador Illa since May 2025. The campaign emphasizes that without complete diagnostic data on where and how these abuses occur, it is impossible to evaluate the effectiveness of current prevention measures.
