Spanish municipalities launch summer infrastructure and school renovation programs
Various municipalities across Spain are implementing summer maintenance programs to upgrade public infrastructure, with a heavy focus on educational facilities and urban safety.
In Lloret de Mar, the City Council is investing over 350,000 euros to renovate schools and institutes, addressing repairs in classrooms, patios, and bathrooms. Similarly, Torredembarra is dedicating approximately 100,000 euros to its three public schools, supplemented by a 250,000 euro subsidy from the Generalitat de Catalunya for further improvements.
Other urban projects include the renewal of senior parks in Vinaròs, the installation of a new children's playground in Valencia's Exposición neighborhood, and extensive road signaling updates in San Fernando. Road maintenance is also a priority, with Burgos launching a 745,000 euro asphalt campaign and Alhama de Murcia investing over 257,000 euros in path repairs.
Additionally, the AIJU-led CircSyst project in the Valencian Community is utilizing European funding to develop technologies aimed at reducing two million tons of food packaging waste through innovative recycling methods.
