Catalan music marks historic milestones in Paris and Spain
A significant weekend for Catalan-language music featured major milestones across Europe and Spain. Mallorcan singer Maria del Mar Bonet returned to the historic L'Olympia theatre in Paris, performing there for the first time in 51 years. Accompanied by Borja Penalba and her latest ensemble, Bonet performed a set that bridged her historical repertoire with songs from her 2026 album, ‘L’aigua no cansa’.
In Spain, the band Oques Grasses concluded their farewell tour with four consecutive sold-out concerts at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc, drawing a total of over 220,000 fans. Additionally, the Valencian group La Gossa Sorda performed their final concert in their hometown of Pego, saying goodbye to their audience after nearly three decades of musical career.
