Catalans Dragons and Hull FC in Talks Over Swap of Solomona Faataape for Amir Bourouh

Catalans Dragons and Hull FC are reportedly negotiating a player exchange that would see hooker Amir Bourouh move to the French Super League side in return for centre Solomona Faataape heading to the English club. Hull FC have expressed interest in Faataape, confirming they reviewed his performances with the Wests Tigers last season, while they are keen to retain Bourouh, who remains under contract through the 2027 season.

Former Hull coach John Cartwright, now with Catalans, said he is hopeful a deal can be reached but noted the swap is “not straightforward” because replacing a centre with a hooker poses challenges. Cartwright also confirmed he will stay at Catalans beyond the 2026 season after signing a new deal. Both clubs indicated the discussions are ongoing, with an announcement expected in the near future.
