Team Chile wins first gold medals at South American Games

Chile secured its first gold medals at the 2026 South American Games in Santa Fe. Cyclist Catalina Vidaurre won the mountain bike event at the Rafaela circuit, finishing with a time of 1:14:50. Her compatriot, Florencia Monsalvez, took the silver medal, finishing 12 seconds behind.

In addition to the cycling victory, Ángel Inostroza earned a gold medal for Chile in eSports, winning the Assetto Corsa GT sim racing competition. The Chilean delegation also earned several other medals, including silver in swimming (4x100m medley relay) and skating, as well as multiple bronze medals in swimming, fencing, and skating, bringing their total medal count to 14.
