Catalonia and Vietnam Sign Economic Cooperation Pact

The Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce signed a cooperation agreement in Hanoi during Catalan President Salvador Illa's Southeast Asian tour. The pact, signed by Barcelona Chamber President Josep Santacreu and Vietnam Chamber Vice‑President Nguyen Quang, aims to strengthen economic ties, facilitate the internationalisation of Catalan and Vietnamese companies, and promote joint trade missions and conferences.

The agreement highlights plans for a possible direct flight between Barcelona and Vietnam to boost tourism and business, and calls for cooperation in technology and sustainable tourism. Officials noted Vietnam’s economy grew 8.02 % in 2025 and serves a market of over 100 million people, presenting a strategic entry point to Southeast Asia for Catalan firms, while Catalonia offers access to the European market.
