Catalonia child‑care directorate scandal denounced by PP MP Lorena Roldán
Lorena Roldán, the Popular Party spokesperson in the Catalan Parliament, accused the regional government of a corruption and pedophilia network within the General Directorate for Childhood and Adolescence (DGAIA). She said a whistle‑blower reported irregularities, prompting the anti‑fraud office to open investigations, and that the whistle‑blower received death threats. Roldán alleged that officials falsified signatures to claim public funds for child‑care places worth €4,000‑€8,000 each, with no clear accounting of the money. The accusations target the former ERC administration led by Pere Aragonès and the current Generalitat under Salvador Illa, and she called the implicated staff "monsters" while urging the anti‑corruption prosecutor to continue the probe.
