Catalonia heritage sites Masia Freixa and Casa Gran del Miracle reopen

The modernist Masia Freixa in Terrassa reopened after thirteen months of renovation and a full restoration, converting the landmark into a museum space that now welcomes an average of 200 visitors per day. Entry remains free until June 2027, and guided tours to the first floor and a new observation tower have quickly filled capacity, with 414 registrations this week.

In the nearby town of Riner, the Casa Gran del Miracle, a 15th‑century pilgrim hostel, reopened following a €2.7 million rehabilitation funded by Next Generation EU. The project restored structural elements, removed architectural barriers, added insulation and an aerothermal system, and created a museum that interprets Baroque‑era life. Mayor Joan Solà highlighted the building’s national cultural importance and called for further support for heritage projects in small municipalities.
