Catalonia hosts landmark concerts by Montserrat Torrent and Valeria Castro

Centenarian soprano Montserrat Torrent celebrated her 100th birthday with a special concert at the Peralada Festival in the Empordà region. The performance featured the world’s largest portable modular organ, the Wanderer, built by organist Albert Blancafort, and included works by Bach, Correa de Arauxo and Joan Cabanilles.

A few days later, Canary Island singer‑songwriter Valeria Castro delivered a cathartic show at the Cap Roig garden in Calella de Palafrugell, promoting her second album *El cuerpo después de todo*. Accompanied by a five‑member band, she blended Latin, folk and pop‑author styles, and announced the continuation of her Spanish tour that will conclude in October at Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi.
