Catalonia hosts summer folk festivals in Roquetes and La Bisbal d'Empordà
The 11th edition of Ebrefolk Roquetes will take place on August 7‑8 in the Hort de Cruells, featuring a tribute to traditional Andalusian music combined with the local jota. The program includes a monographic focus on the sounds of northern Granada and Almería, performances by Andalusian group Cuadrilleros Endémicos, and a mix of popular and modern songs by artists from the Ebro region, Catalonia, Andalusia and Argentina.
On August 8, La Bisbal d'Empordà will host the Brava Arts Weekend at the Brava Arts contemporary‑creation centre. The event blends music, immersive art and new leisure forms, with a Social Run, Coffee Rave, Animal Flow session, and a silent‑disco Ecstatic Dance led by digital‑art artist Alex Posada. Highlights include the GregoTechno project that fuses Gregorian chant with electronic music, a lineup of emerging female DJs, and installations such as Xavi Bové Studio’s Passatges and Australian artist Amanda Parer’s inflatable dome.
