Catalonia launches €5bn industry pact for Tarragona and Ebre

The Catalan government has presented the National Pact for Industry 2026‑2030, a €5 billion roadmap that outlines more than 190 measures to transform the region’s industrial base. The plan targets the Camp de Tarragona and the Terres de l’Ebre, emphasizing decarbonisation, new infrastructure, and support for sectors such as petrochemicals, agro‑food, furniture and construction. It includes financing from the Nuclear Transition Fund, an investment plan for agro‑food industry, and actions to improve public‑transport links to industrial parks. Conseller d’Empresa i Treball Miquel Sàmper said the agreement “reafirma el seu compromís amb el desenvolupament econòmic equilibrat del territori, la sostenibilitat ambiental i la competitivitat del teixit industrial català.”

In parallel, the Figueres city council has begun processing a 280,000 m² industrial‑and‑tertiary zone in the city’s north. The project, called Industrial Nord, will allow up to 185,080 m² of building area and aims to attract new firms by leveraging Figueres’ strategic location and upcoming transport links, including new roundabouts on the N‑II road. The plan also foresees a new water‑treatment facility and coordination with future regional infrastructure, supporting the municipality’s strategy to diversify its economy and boost local employment.
