Catalonia launches summer blood and plasma donation drive in Cerdanyola

On 10 July 2026 the Banc de Sang i Teixits began a new edition of its summer campaign in Cerdanyola del Vallès. The drive aims to guarantee blood and plasma reserves for July and August, offsetting a typical 20 % decline in donations during the season. Organisers set a regional target of 40 000 donations across Catalonia and have scheduled five donation sessions in Cerdanyola: 13 July, 27 July, 3 August, 10 August and 24 August, each with morning and afternoon slots at the mobile unit in Plaça Abat Oliba. Eligible donors must be at least 18 years old, weigh over 50 kg and be in good health. The campaign advises volunteers to stay well‑hydrated, avoid donating on an empty stomach and limit sun exposure after giving. Appointments can be booked in advance through the campaign website.
