Catalonia motorcyclist Elena Miquel highlights rising bike crash deaths

The Servei Català de Trànsit reports that 23 motorcyclists have died in Catalonia this year, accounting for 40 % of all traffic fatalities. In Barcelona, four of six road deaths involved motorcyclists. Most fatal crashes involve men over 45, occur on the AP‑7, and are single‑vehicle incidents such as running off the road.

Authorities are intensifying road‑safety measures: expanding awareness campaigns, offering safe‑driving courses, increasing police patrols with drones and helicopters, and reviving the "Per evitar accidents, anticipa't" campaign.
