Liquids Vegetals, a plant‑based beverage producer based in Viladrau, Osona, secured distribution agreements with major German supermarket chains, including Kaufland and the Bünning group. The deals were facilitated by ACCIÓ’s Berlin office, which provided market intelligence and arranged key meetings. The company, which markets its products under the Natrue label, now reaches more than 1,000 stores in Germany and exports to over 50 countries, having posted €94 million in revenue in 2025 with 22 % derived from international sales.

The expansion illustrates Catalonia’s broader export‑driven growth model. While the region boasts an open economy, strong talent pool, and dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem, analysts note persistent productivity challenges. Factors such as the limited size of firms, gaps in research‑to‑market transfer, and the need to up‑skill workers for new technologies are cited as barriers to translating Catalonia’s economic successes into higher long‑term prosperity.
