Catalonia rolls out extensive summer youth program and enforces activity reporting rules

The Vilafranca del Penedès city council announced a summer programme for adolescents and young adults aged 13 to 30, offering more than 50 activities and over 600 free places between 19 June and 7 August 2026. The schedule is divided into five thematic areas – art and creativity, technology and innovation, culture and citizenship, sport and physical activity, and leisure and community – and includes new initiatives such as the Vila League football league and the “Més enllà del català” language workshops for recent arrivals.

The Consell Comarcal de l’Anoia reminded municipalities, private entities and individuals that organise leisure‑education activities for minors to comply with Decree 267/2016. Organisers must submit electronic notifications to the Catalan government for activities involving four or more participants under 18, covering camps, colonies, sport‑related outings and similar events, with deadlines of seven days before the start. The reminder aims to ensure safety, quality and environmental respect for youth programmes across the region.
