Catalonia summer cultural and festive programming

Catalonia offers a diverse range of cultural and festive activities throughout August, spanning from Barcelona to the Empordà and Costa Brava regions.

In Barcelona, the city maintains a busy summer schedule featuring neighborhood festivals such as the Gràcia and Sants festivities. Cultural institutions are hosting various exhibitions, including a study on beauty at the CCCB, a Jean-Luc Godard retrospective at La Virreina Centre de la Imatge, and an immersive Roman Pompeii experience at Palau Victòria Eugènia. Additionally, the Banksy Museum Barcelona showcases reproductions of the artist's work.

The Empordà and Girona regions are also hosting significant events. The Porta Ferrada Occident Festival includes performances by Nile Rodgers & Chic and Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals. Other notable programming includes the Mediterranean Guitar Festival in L'Estartit, the In-Edit Empordà documentary festival, and various local town festivals in locations such as Torroella de Montgrí and Pals.
