Catalonia's quantum tech firms generate 470 jobs and €91 million in revenue

An Acció report shows that Catalonia hosts 52 quantum‑technology companies, collectively employing around 470 people and turning over €91.4 million in 2025. Over half (53.8 %) are small‑and‑medium enterprises, 32.7 % are less than ten years old and 21.2 % export their products. About 13.5 % of firms earn more than €1 million annually, and 2 % exceed €10 million.

The region attracted 44 % of Spain's Horizon Europe quantum‑project funding between 2022 and early 2026, financing 53 projects with €50 million of investment, of which 2.7 % came from the EU. The Catalan government announced a €2.5 million allocation for 2027 to further develop the sector. Companies such as Quilimanjaro, Quside and Luxquanta are highlighted, and the technology is applied in pharmaceuticals, health, industry 4.0, logistics, finance, telecommunications, civil engineering and aerospace. The report notes a 30 % growth in the number of firms since 2019 and projects an annual sector growth of 12–16 % over the next decade.
