Catamarca Book Fair to host VADERCON! and historical archive projects
The 18th Catamarca Provincial Book Fair will feature VADERCON!, a pop culture convention organized by Caraffa Espacio de Arte. Running from October 7 to October 11 at the Predio Ferial Catamarca, the event will include cosplay contests, K-Pop performances, urban dance, and workshops in drawing, manga, and character design.
In addition to the convention, the fair will focus on historical preservation through the presentation of documentary archives. On October 8, the Municipal Hemeroteca will present 'Patrimonio en viñetas,' a project dedicated to digitizing the works of artist Roberto Candelario Rodríguez Aybar, known as Pistún. This initiative aims to recover and organize illustrations and comic strips published in the La Unión newspaper during the 1960s and 1970s to preserve the province's cultural memory.
