Catamarca honors poet Leonardo Martínez with collected works release

The Catamarca Book Fair will host a tribute to the late writer Leonardo Martínez on Saturday, October 10, marking ten years since his passing. Martínez was a notable local poet and the only one from the province to receive the Rosa de Cobre distinction from the Biblioteca Nacional Mariano Moreno.

The event, promoted by poet Rosario Andrada and other colleagues, will explore Martínez's life and his poetic themes, which include death, orphanhood, and a specific perspective on women. The tribute will take place at the Predio Feral Catamarca auditorium and will feature poets Rosario Andrada, Celia Sarquís, and Alejandro Acosta.

As part of the commemoration, El Guadal Editora will present ‘Quieto corazón de monte’, a collected works volume. This book gathers eleven of Martínez's poetry books published between 1989 and 2017, including his posthumous work ‘Historias Guardadas’, alongside a chronology and a biographical sketch.
