Catamarca hosts the Argentine Mediation Forum

The XVII Regional Forum and XVI Argentine Mediation Forum has commenced at the Predio Ferial in Catamarca. Running until August 28, the event brings together over 200 specialists, mediators, and institutional representatives from various Argentine provinces and abroad under the theme “Synergy for peace integrating mediation into the social fabric.”

During the inaugural ceremony, Minister of Government, Security, and Justice Alberto Natella and Secretary of Justice and Citizen Participation Laila Saleme highlighted Catamarca’s role as a host. The province's selection followed presentations made to the Federal Council of Justice (COFEJUS) regarding its advancements in judicial modernization and access to justice.

The forum's agenda includes discussions on the expansion of mediation in the digital era, human rights perspectives in conflict resolution, and the ethical dilemmas posed by the use of artificial intelligence in mediation. A scheduled session will feature Ana Prawda, an Argentine mediator based in Australia, discussing the prevention of school-based armed violence through mediation.
