Catamarca mayor faces scrutiny over parking fees at Fiesta del Poncho

Councilor Eleonora Sopagale asked municipal secretary Mariela Romero of Catamarca's capital to provide a detailed report on the authorizations, fees and exploitation agreements related to the parking area surrounding the Fiesta del Poncho venue. The request seeks clarification on the number of authorized parking attendants, the selection process, required identification, and whether a fixed tariff was applied.

The councilor also demanded information on complaints of compulsory charges, extortion, and overpricing lodged by residents and tourists, including any issued fines, controls performed and sanctions imposed. Additionally, she asked for identification of the owners of the adjoining parcels used for parking and details of any contracts or resolutions that authorized their commercial use.
