Catamarca Governor inaugurates major bridge and advances terminal works

Governor Raúl Jalil has inaugurated a major new bridge over the Santa María River, a 350-meter-long structure designed to improve connectivity in the western region of Catamarca. The project, located on Provincial Route 149, was funded through a combination of provincial resources, mining royalties, and corporate social responsibility contributions. Jalil noted that the province will now assume responsibility for three additional bridge projects in Tinogasta, Santa María, and Belén that were previously part of national plans.

In addition to the bridge, the provincial government is advancing the second stage of the Catamarca Metropolitan Bus Terminal. This phase involves the construction of foundations, columns, and a metal roof, with a planned execution period of 150 days. The terminal is intended to optimize regional logistics and urban connectivity near Avenida Juan Chelemín.

Other ongoing infrastructure projects in the province include hospital improvements in Antofagasta de la Sierra, Belén, and San José, which are expected to be completed within the next year. Jalil emphasized a pragmatic approach to governance, stating that the administration focuses on resolving regional issues through available resources despite the complex economic climate.
