Argentina law enforcement conducts widespread crime crackdowns

Various law enforcement operations across Argentina have resulted in numerous arrests and seizures related to drug trafficking, theft, and other crimes.

In drug-related enforcement, authorities in Entre Ríos seized over 38,000 pills hidden in a vehicle traveling from Brazil, while operations in Villa La Angostura and Río Grande targeted micro-trafficking, resulting in the seizure of cocaine, cannabis, and various scales. In Chos Malal, a prosecutor has charged four individuals for drug distribution.

Theft and property crimes remain a significant concern. In Corrientes, cattle rustling has escalated into organized crime, leading to the abandonment of 400,000 hectares of ranch land. Other incidents include the recovery of stolen vehicle batteries in Paraguay, the seizure of 5,000 kilograms of illegally harvested wood in Tres Isletas, and the resolution of a robbery in Paso de los Libres where significant amounts of foreign and local currency were recovered.

Additionally, police in Misiones intercepted a smuggler carrying contraband cigarettes, and in Del Viso, two men were detained following an attempted robbery and pursuit. Road safety operations also led to the detection of dozens of intoxicated drivers and multiple traffic violations.
