Catamarca workers demand wage increases amid resource disputes

Public sector workers in Catamarca, Argentina, are intensifying demands for wage increases to recover lost purchasing power. In Valle Viejo, the SOEM union has adjusted its initial demand from 30% to 20%, stating that the municipality should be able to afford this adjustment.

Union leader Eduardo Moya has criticized the administration's management of municipal resources, specifically citing excessive spending on vehicles. A key collective bargaining meeting is scheduled for this Friday, which will determine if the municipality's proposal is sufficient or if workers will proceed with new strike actions.
